Hi friends! It's Sunday and that means time for a new challenge at The Paper Players! This week the sweet and talented Laurie is our hostess with a color challenge.
The challenge colors made me think of.. guess what.. flowers! What a surprise! Actually the yellow and red combo made me think specifically of poinsettias with their bright red blooms and yellow centers. Though I have a couple of poinsettia stamps, I was yearning for something a little larger, and I was able to find instant gratification with a Power Poppy digital stamp set. My favorite feature about a digital set is how you can make the image as large or small as you like. I combined it with a stamped sentiment, because I haven't figured out yet how to insert one into my image :)
I'm also playing along with the Creative Confetti Challenge at Power Poppy, which is Just Color, and the 30 Day Coloring Challenge at The Daily Marker.
Stamp Sets: Poinsettias and Pomegranates Digi Stamp Set (Power Poppy), Layering Wreath (Hero Arts)
Card Stock: Solar White (Neenah)
Patterned Paper: Perfectly Plaid Christmas (Lawn Fawn)
Ink Pads: Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Markers : Copic
Tools: Big Shot, Stitched Rectangle Dies (Lawn Fawn)
Accessories: Adhesive Sequins (Jillibean Soup), Red Glitter Paper (American Crafts)

Inky hugs :)

Outstanding! This is such an beautiful card!! I don't do much digital and I am not sure why! I see why you decided to chose this one! Enjoy your Sunday!
ooooooooh...so pretty! poinsettias are a perfect flower for the colors....so beautiful Sandy!
Beautiful card Sandy. Love that poinsettia image. I need to get my stamp out and use it. Thanks for the inspiration.
I LOVE this card, Sandy. A striking image, perfectly coloured and mounted with the perfect paper to make it shine. When I see what you've done with digital stamps, I feel I'm going to have to be brave and give one a try. I have browsed but have not yet purchased. Something for the summer holiday, perhaps.
Sandy, your card is gorgeous! What beautiful coloring, and I love the DP with the glitter paper on the left! It's stunning! So glad to see you try a digital image, and using Word should allow you to add a digi sentiment. Be sure to try clicking on the sentiment and then right click to select "Bring to the Front." Should work. Otherwise, email me. Hugs!
I agree...digital stamps are great, but it is tricky to add the sentiment...and usually it's just easier to stamp one! I think Cheryl's "tutorial" is a good one...sometimes I just have to play with it! Your coloring is delightful...they look so real, they could pop right off the page!
A lovely poinsettia card! Thank you for playing along with my coloring challenge :)
Beautiful, Sandy! Your coloring is spot on. I love the So Saffron berries and the plaid background. You can never go wrong with plaid!
Oh Sandy, this is gorgeous! I love poinsettia's and your coloring is amazing! The plaid and the glitter paper is perfect to showcase this beautiful bloom! Have a great weekend, My Friend! XX
Sandy...Fabulous coloring... your poinsettia is gorgeous!
Sandy, I thought flowers, too. However, I didn't think poinsettia and yet, they are perfect! You colored this wonderful Power Poppy bloom beautifully. the glitter paper is a perfect addition to the background, too. Gorgeous card
