Hi friends! It's Sunday and that means time for a new challenge at The Paper Players. This week my sweet friend LeAnne is our hostess with a color challenge. It's a pretty one, too!
I've had this NBUS background stamp on my desk for a few weeks now, and decided to take it out for a whirl. I heat embossed the triangles with white embossing powder. Then I used the smooshing technique with distress inks to add the colors. Finally, I splattered with a little water.
I'm also playing along with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, which is Distress It.
Stamp Sets: Abstract Triangles, Sending and Wishing (Simon Says Stamp)
Card Stock: Smooth Watercolor (Bristol), Solar White (Neenah), Basic Black (Stampin Up)
Ink Pads: Versamark, Scattered Straw, Spiced Marmalade, Ripe Persimmon Distress Inks (Ranger)
Tools: Heat Tool, Big Shot, Sending and Wishing Dies (Simon Says Stamp)
Accessories: White Embossing Powder (Simon Says Stamp), Enamel Dots (Doodlebug)
Speaking of triangles... While I was making this card, I kept thinking of this apartment building in NYC on the Hudson River, called VIA 57 West, or the Pyramid Building. I took this photo while on a dinner cruise. Pretty cool, huh?
Inky hugs :)

Sandy, the background you created is fantastic! I love all those white embossed triangles and then the smooching of those colors made a gorgeous creation! The sentiment and enamel dots are perfect! Love it! I hope you have a great week! Praying for you and your family! XX
What a fabulous watercoloured background Sandy - perfect to highlight your geometric design. Your background looks so natural (mine never look this good, I think I need some tips lol!) Love that triangular building too - awesome!
Once again, your work leaves me nothing to say except to sigh in pleasure. Simply stunning.
I love this...a perfect way to use that embossing on your background stamp as well as those bright colors! And what a cool shot of that Pyramid building...I haven't worked in the city for eons, so I've not ever seen that! TFS and thanks for rocking my challenge!
Fabulous card Sandy! I love your smooshed background, it looks wonderful.
Thanks for joining us at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
