Hi friends! It's Sunday and that means time for a new challenge at The Paper Players! This week the amazing Nance is our hostess with a Clean-and-Simple challenge: Use Negative Space on your Card.
It took me a while to come up with an idea for this challenge, as the use of negative space is something I rarely incorporate in a card. But hey, that's why they call it a challenge, right? I went through my dies to look for something suitable, and was thrilled when I came across this NBUS die from Simon Says Stamp, Bare Tree Oval. Perfect! I tried to keep things as CAS as possible, but must admit I spent a bit of time on the background. First I sponged distress inks onto watercolor paper, then splattered a bit of water, and finally splattered some watered down acrylic paint to give the illusion of snow.
I had some leftover background so I made a second card, with a different sentiment and a bow on the tree. Which do you like better?
Two more Christmas cards to add to my stash!
I'm also sharing these creations at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, which is use a die or punch, and the Jingle Belles Challenge, All Bundled Up (make a card with layers).
