Fairy Garden

Hi friends! It's Sunday and that means time for a new challenge at The Paper Players! This week, I have the pleasure and honor of being your hostess with a Clean and Simple challenge: Magical. There are so many ways you can go with this: fairies, unicorns, mermaids, gnomes, or anything your imagination can dream up!

I had so much fun with this card! I combined three different stamp sets to assemble my fairy garden, and if you scroll down you'll see what my inspiration was. There are a lot of images, but I tried to keep things clean and simple with lots of white space and minimal layers. Of course I had to add some glitter on the wings, because what's a fairy without her fairy dust?!

I'm also linking this up to our "vibrant color" challenge at Seize the Birthday, though you can also make an "anything goes" birthday card.

Now for my inspiration... There is a park a few miles from my house, and it has a trail which is a one mile loop around a small lake. I've been there many times over the years, but this time was different.

One by one, I came across one fairy garden after another, all created by  other park-goers just for the enjoyment of others.

There must be at least a dozen fairy gardens now, and there is even a gnome fishing in the creek.

Nobody damages or steals anything, and every time I go back now I see that people have added more to it. It's quite magical!

Fairies, gnomes, even Smurf's... everybody is welcome in this garden!

Stamp Sets: Pixie Dust, Cupcakes (Avery Elle), Roses for You (Simon Says Stamp)
Card Stock: Solar White (Neenah)
Ink Pads: Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Markers: Copic
Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds Glitter (Stampin' Up)

Thanks so much for stopping by! Please leave a comment, and then head over to visit the rest of the Design Team at The Paper Players. We hope you'll play along with our challenge this week, too!

Inky hugs :)

Oh my, Sandy, you certainly rocked your own challenge! Your fairy garden birthday card is precious. Expertly colored and perfectly balanced, it is clean-and-simple but still full of fun details. What an amazing park with all those fun fairy gardens--a delight to all, young and old!

I love your fairy garden. The bright colours against the crisp white look SO good. Somehow you've coloured the flowers so that they somehow look translucent. As for the fairy garden walk in the park - how unbelievably fabulous! I'll bet it's an inspiration to go for more walks to see what's been added. Have you done one?

Sandy, Your card was just so joyful. I may even case some of it.
What fun it must be to walk in the park with all the little magical gardens. So nice that no one steals or damaged the gardens.

Oh my gosh, what wonderful inspiration you found in your park! What a cool idea! My SIL has a little fairy garden too but it's still too chilly for her to set it up! Meanwhile, your card is a perfect little fairy garden too! So cute!

Oh I love your perfectly CAS fairy card Sandy - those wings are so sparkly! I love the fairy garden at the park too. I painted a small gnome the last time I went pottery painting to create a little corner in my own garden - I love the idea of creating one in the park for everyone to share. A fab challenge this week!

Sandy, I loved this challenge and I love this card. You created a fabulous, magical scene - and you colored your images beautifully. OK... I am totally obsessed with the idea of your walk through the magical gardens. What a fabulous idea. My best friend would love taking a walk around there. I don't think I'd ever get her out of it!
