Get Well Tree

Hi friends! It's Sunday and that means time for a new challenge at The Paper Players! This week the wonderful and talented Jaydee is our hostess with a color challenge. I really love these colors, they make me think of beach glass.

I decided to stay with the blue-green theme for my fourth color, and added an olive-y green for the tree trunk and leaves. The tree was stamped in Memento black ink and colored with Copic markers. The sentiment was heat embossed and popped up with foam dots. This was a really simple card, which seems to be all I have time for lately!

I'm also playing along with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge which is Use Patterned Paper.

Stamp Sets: Say Hello, Many Everyday Messages (Hero Arts)
Card Stock: Solar White (Neenah), Navy (Simon Says Stamp)
Patterned Paper: Perfectly Plaid Fall (Lawn Fawn)
Ink Pads: Tuxedo Black (Memento), Versamark
Markers: Copic
Tools: Big Shot, Nesting Rectangle Dies (Hero Arts), Heat Tool
Accessories: White Embossing Powder (Hero Arts)

Thanks so much for stopping by! Please leave a comment, and then head over to visit the rest of the Design Team at The Paper Players. We hope you'll play along with our challenge this week, too!

Inky hugs :)

Oh this little tree is fabulous, Sandy, especially the beautiful way you’ve colored it. Love the folk art look of the design. Perfect sentiment placement too and love the pop of black! Fabulous card, my friend!

I really like your tree - it's kind of retro looking and I keep seeing new elements in it. Great colouring, as always. I like the font of the greeting as well - simple and striking. Lovely card!

Sandy, I love this tree and amazing job coloring it. I love the background DSP, too. And, of course, I love all that wonderful white space around your tree. Fabulous take on the colors this week

I think with these strong colors, lots of white is perfect, and this beautiful little tree (and bird) is just the right image! SO pretty colored the way you did!!!

So love your tree! If I read correctly, it is patterned paper? It would make a great stamp...and your coloring was perfect! I feel spring might be on the way.

Eliz: The plaid background is patterned paper. The tree was stamped and colored with copic markers. Thanks for your kind words!
