PP370 White on White

Hi friends! It's Sunday and that means time for a new challenge at The Paper Players! This week the amazing Nance is our hostess with a color challenge: White on White. I love white on white cards and couldn't wait to get started on one!

Given the time of year and the inspiration photo, a Christmas card would have been the logical choice. However, I was inspired to use some silhouette dies that I purchased recently from Hobby Lobby. Did I mention there is a Hobby Lobby in my area now? I'm so excited! It's a 30 minute or so drive but prior to this I would have had to travel to a different state to get to the closest one. Anyway... I cut the image three times and stacked them up for some dimension. For some texture, the top layer is textured card stock. I also added a base layer of some recycled card stock which is just beautiful. It came in a kit and I had no idea what to do with it, but it worked perfectly for this project. I'm happy to say I don't need a sympathy card at the moment, but it never hurts to have one on hand.

Stamp Sets: Love and Sympathy (Stampin' Up)
Card Stock: Solar White (Neenah), White Textured (Stampin' Up), Recycled Card Stock (Hero Arts)
Ink: Soft Granite (Hero Arts)
Tools: Big Shot, Pierced Rectangle Dies (My Favorite Things), Stacking Rectangle Dies (Hero Arts), Wildflower Dies (Tim Holtz)

Thanks so much for stopping by! Please leave a comment, and then head over to visit the rest of the Design Team at The Paper Players. We hope you'll play along with our challenge this week, too!

Inky hugs :)

  2. What a beautiful sympathy card.So elegant!

Awesome you have a Hobby Lobby! I am lucky to have not only Hobby Lobby in town, but Michael's, Joanne's, and an awesome craft store filled with stamps, dies and papers. Lucky for me I guess but not the pocket book..LOL!

  5. Oh Sandy, this is wonderful. Sympathy card or not, it is beautiful. That die cut is so stylish and stacking it has given such great dimension. The recycled paper and textured cardstock make statements of their own. Wow!

  6. It's nice to see something other than a Christmas card, although I love them, too! Your sympathy card is very thoughtful and will be greatly appreciated when the time comes! And how fun that you have a HL near you now....we just got one as well, but it's almost an hour away, so it's not really much of a temptation for me!
