Monochromatic Birthday

Hi everyone! A Happy Thanksgiving to you all!
It's also time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday!

This time around the "Toppings" options is "Monochromatic". However, you can also chose to do an Anything Goes birthday card, the choice is yours. This is also our last challenge of the year as our DT takes off for the month of December, so we hope you'll find time to play along!

So, I've been in kind of a stamping 'funk' lately, not feeling any mojo whatsoever. When that happens and I need to make a card, I either go to other stampers for inspiration, or I go through my own stash and case something I made previously. I did the latter, and pulled out some vintage stamps from Stampin' Up that I've had for ages and refuse to part with.

The supply list for the card is small, no punches, dies or Big Shot. I stamped the sentiment multiple times for the background and heat embossed in white. I did the same thing for the top layer and fussy cut the image. Yup. That was all cut by hand, the old-school way!

This was a great opportunity to play along with the Retro Rubber challenge, where it's Anything Goes. I can't give an exact age on these stamp sets, but I am going to guess they are about 10 years old.

Supplies (All Stampin' Up)
Stamp Sets: Elements of Style, Petite Pairs
Card Stock: Midnight Muse
Ink Pads: Versamark
Tools: Heat Tool
Accessories: White Embossing Powder

I'm so glad you paid me a visit today! If you have a moment please leave a comment, then visit the rest of the wonderful Design Team at Seize the Birthday. We'd love for you to play along, too! Don't forget, it's our last challenge of the year!

Inky hugs :)

  1. Really, it looks like pattern paper in the background! Love that dark navy - one of my favorite colors for the base layer! Such a beautiful card, Sandy! :)

  5. Gorgeous card Sandy. I agree with everyone, I think you are out of the "funk" stage. A lot of fussy cutting, but so worth it. Hope you had a very Happy Thanksgiving.
