PP356 The Great Outdoors

Hi friends! It's Sunday and that means time for a new challenge at The Paper Players! This week our awesome Nance is hostess with a theme challenge: The Great Outdoors.

I made this card for hubby on our anniversary back in June and have been waiting for an appropriate challenge to share it with, and this one was perfect! Hubby loves all things nautical, but I'd realized that I'd used the same few nautical stamp sets over and over again over the last few years. I went in search of a digi image and found this free one, and used MS word for my sentiment. I tried every trick out there to seal the ink so I could watercolor, but nothing worked so I resorted to colored pencils. I'm really happy with the way it came out, and hubby seemed to like it. But he's a smart man and wouldn't tell me if he didn't!

Products Used:
Card Stock: Solar White (Neenah), Night of Navy (Stampin' Up)
Patterned Paper: Maritime (Stampin' Up), Summer Vibe (Simple Stories)
Colored Pencils: Prismacolor

Thanks so much for stopping by! Please leave a comment, and then head over to visit the rest of the Design Team at The Paper Players. We hope you'll play along with our challenge this week, too!

Inky hugs :)

  9. Hi Sandy,

I'm sure he liked it, it's wonderful! I love the wood texture in the background and the colouring is fab.

By the way, I have the same problems with digi images, the ink just bleeds with copics and water alike... I'm told it can be changed by buying a new printer, that uses different ink, but that option is a bit costly... Now I am waiting for my printer to break, and give me an excuse to buy a new one. ;)

    Hugs
    Ela
