Hello friends, and a happy April Fool's day to you. No tricks here today, I promise! April showers have begun early in New York as it has been pouring cats and dogs for most of the week. I hope some warmer temperatures will follow. I have a simple birthday card for a couple of challenges today, using some new goodies from Mama Elephant.
I'm playing along with the layout at CAS(E) this sketch along with the inspiration at The Card Concept. I was inspired by the beautiful purple-aqua-gold color scheme, along with the repeating bottle element, though I used balloons instead.
How could I not play along with Darnell's Big Fat Card Boo Boo / NBUS challenge?! My NBUS items are all three of the stamp sets I used and the Happy die, listed below.
For my boo-boo's, take your pick! How about a crooked balloon string, or perhaps a splattering of purple ink where it doesn't belong? Or how about a balloon double-stamped in my Misti that is misaligned just a smidge? Can't really see my mistakes? Click on the photos for a close-up of my screw-up! There are no lack of mistakes on my craft desk! Perfectionist that I am, the boo boos went in the trash. Thankfully, the third time was a charm :)
I thought the addition of some black made this card a little more grown up as it is going to an adult. For the Happy sentiment, I cut the sentiment twice in black and once in white. The white layer was inked up with some gold pigment ink before gluing them all together.
