Hi everyone! It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players. This week the awesome Joanne is our hostess, and she has a fabulous sketch for us to play along with. I had so many ideas for this one, I may use it again very soon!
Before I share my card, I also wanted to mention that my colors and leaves were inspired by Pantone's Color of the Year for 2017, Greenery. I love nature and the outdoors, so I am really drawn to this color. I've made several cards with green leaves over the last few weeks but I promise I will take a break after this!
So here is how I interpreted the sketch and the color. I did some smooshing and splattering on a piece of watercolor paper with a few shades of green distress ink, then die cut the leaves. I cut the leaves a second time on a piece of scrap paper to use a guide for cutting out the green layer on the bottom. I added my sentiment and a few sequins to finish things off.

So glad you liked my sketch Sandy - I love your unique leaves, very creative! I'm also a big fan of green - very calming! I seem to be in a 'red and white' rut lately, maybe we should swap! A gorgeous card!
Everyone had such great ideas...including you! Another creative idea. The leaves are awesome...well done Sandy!

Fabulous idea with leaves divider, Sandy! Love the greens!
Stunning leaves, Sandy! Love the splotched, watercolor look and your idea to create the border is genius. I love the way the leaves border the bottom--beautiful!
You can use green leaves as much as you want, Sandy, I love them all! What a beautiful way to interpret the sketch! So fresh!
Sandy, love that you shared the pantone color. I was tempted to use leaves when I saw the sketch they seem such a natural fit for it. Yours are gorgeous. So multi-layered. Stunning card, my friend
