Greenery for a Friend, PP329

Hi everyone! It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players. This week the awesome Joanne is our hostess, and she has a fabulous sketch for us to play along with. I had so many ideas for this one, I may use it again very soon!

Before I share my card, I also wanted to mention that my colors and leaves were inspired by Pantone's Color of the Year for 2017, Greenery. I love nature and the outdoors, so I am really drawn to this color. I've made several cards with green leaves over the last few weeks but I promise I will take a break after this!

So here is how I interpreted the sketch and the color. I did some smooshing and splattering on a piece of watercolor paper with a few shades of green distress ink, then die cut the leaves. I cut the leaves a second time on a piece of scrap paper to use a guide for cutting out the green layer on the bottom. I added my sentiment and a few sequins to finish things off.

Products Used:
Stamp Sets: Birthday Flowers (Simon Says Stamp)
Card Stock: White, Green Apple (Simon Says Stamp), Watercolor Card Stock (Strathmore)
Ink Pads: Tuxedo Black (Memento), Crushed Olive, Pine Needles, Mowed Lawn (Tim Holtz)
Tools: Big Shot, Clustered Leaves Die (Simon Says Stamp)
Accessories: Moonshine Sequins (Simon Says Stamp)

I'm so glad you stopped by today! Please take a moment to leave a comment, then head over to The Paper Players to see what the rest of our team has created this week. We hope you'll play along, too!

Inky hugs,
