Butterfly Hello, PP310

Hi everyone! Today at The Paper Players, the fabulous Nance is hostess, and she has a great sketch for us to play along with. We can't wait to see what you create with it!

I'm into butterflies these days, and if you scroll down you'll see why. For my card, I decided to treat the two panels as a whole, then slice off a third of it. I know, that sounds painful, lol! After that I thought all they needed was a black mat. This was a super simple card to make: just stamps, paper and ink.

I'm also playing with the August Inspiration Challenge at Altenew. I was inspired by the shades of pink, red and black.

Now for some promised pictures:

On my recent trip to Canada, one of our stops was a butterfly conservatory within a botanical garden. Wow, I have never seen so many butterflies!

So many different kinds, too. They were just alighting on the visitors with no fear whatsoever. The last pic above is me, and apparently I had been mistaken for a flower!

Products Used:
Stamp Sets: Painted Butterflies, Painted Flowers (Altenew)
Card Stock: Solar White (Neenah), Fog, Black (Simon Says Stamp)
Ink Pads: Tuxedo Black (Memento), Rouge, Velvet, Frayed Leaf, Evergreen (Altenew)

Thanks for paying me a visit today! Next, please visit the rest of the Design Team at The Paper Players, and we hope you'll play along this week, too!

Inky hugs :)

  2. Your stamped butterflies and flowers are just as pretty as the real ones! They are both amazing! I have never seen any of those butterflies, it must have been such a thrill! I still think I need a tutorial on the Altenew stamps....or maybe just more time to play, LOL!

  3. Sandy, this is so, so pretty and beautifully stamped! I love playing with the Altenew layering stamps. They end up looking so artistic. Those real butterflies are gorgeous and so different, each one.

  4. Sandy, I love that we are both inspired by altenew right now. I saw this stamp set and didn't think I needed it... but I think you just showed me the error of my ways! Beautiful colors and a great use of the sketch. Your butterfly photographs are superb.

  5. Gorgeous! Both the stamping and the colors--this is exactly what I had in mind with this sketch and you nailed it! Love your real life inspiration too--they're beautiful creatures aren't they?! Next time you're in Gainesville, you have to check out the Butterfly Rainforest at the Natural History Museum--it's breathtaking! Thanks for rockin' my sketch this week!
