Season of Joy, MM210

Hi friends! The temperatures have been close to 90 degrees the last few days, yet I was inspired to make a couple of Christmas cards. Here is one and you'll see the other next week, both using long retired Stampin' Up stuff. In particular I've been trying to finish up a package of patterned paper that I bought in hmm...2009? Can't quite figure it out but needless to say I am a patterned paper hoarder, and I am determined to finish off this pack eventually, down to the very last scrap. I know I'm a little crazy but if there are any other crazy paper hoarders out there I'd love to hear from you, lol!

My inspiration was this week's challenge at Merry Monday, to use the words Love, Peace or Joy on your card. I love the mantle in their inspiration photo and also tried to channel the color scheme of greens and earth tones.

I stamped my envelope and a simple sentiment inside, and this card is ready to be added to my Christmas card stash. That box is looking sadly empty but I intend to work on that.

  2. Lovely card. I can relate to your situation; my Christmas stack is lacking height. 😔

  4. Ditto...to every thing above. Love the card. I never start mine until December. I cannot get rid of paper too. I have the tiniest sizes.. I'm trying to be better at it. 😊

  6. I love the fresh colours you have used in your card. The trees are gorgeous, wonderful with the wee red bird. I did have a giggle at your 'patterned paper hoarder' comment. I completely relate to it :-)

  7. I am sheepishly raising my hand as a fellow paper hoarder. I've got some packages of paper that I've never even opened and some that are too pretty to use! But I do try to use it when I can and someday I hope my stash will actually be smaller than it is right now! I'm a big fan of simple triangular trees on Christmas cards and I love how you channeled the colors in the inspiration photo for your card. The glimmer paper is a nice sparkly touch as is the bright red bird!
