Pillow Box Gift Card Holders

Hi friends! I don't know about you, but my Christmas preparations are starting to wind down. All my cards have been completed and mailed, and most of my shopping done. Now it's time to finish wrapping gifts, and package up those oh-so-popular gift cards. I created these pillow boxes for that purpose using my new Lawn Fawn Pillow Box die, which fits gift cards perfectly. This also gave me a chance to use lots of little sentiments from my also new Mini Messages stamp set from Mama Elephant with it's coordinating dies, both of which I got for free! Once I made the first pillow box I couldn't stop, so I made four more :) Oh, and as an added bonus, the die fits perfectly on a 6" x 6" piece of patterned paper.

The only stamping involved in this project was on the tags, so I'm going to play along with the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, which is "Just a Pinch". I used just a pinch of ink. The Simon Wednesday Challenge is "Die Crazy", and I used lots of dies for this project, including my Simon snowflake die.

Products Used:
Stamp Sets: Mini Messages (Mama Elephant)
Card Stock: Solar White (Neenah)
Patterned Paper: Have a Merry Christmas (Carta Bella)
Ink Pads: Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow (Stampin' Up)
Tools: Big Shot, Pillow Box Die (Lawn Fawn), Fun Flakes Die (Simon Says Stamp), Mini Tags Dies (Mama Elephant)
Accessories: Clear Tinsel Trim (Stampin' Up), 9mm Jingle Bells (Creatology), Cotton Thread (from my sewing stash)

I don't normally mention adhesives in my supply list, but I think it's good to know that I used Sticky Strip on the pillow boxes as most tape runners won't hold it together. Also, I tied the three jingle bells together with the cotton thread, then tied those on to the tinsel trim bows, and finally adhered the bow to the box with a craft glue dot.

Have an awesome day, and I hope you'll leave a comment!
