Doggie Sympathy, RS163 & RRCB13

Hi, friends. I have a card for a sad occasion today. My neighbors recently had to put down their boxer as she was very ill. They are heartbroken :(  I envisioned making them something clean, simple and serene and this is what I came up with. I must confess I struggled with this card. I used a brand new juicy Versafine ink pad, and I suppose I should have given it a bit of time to dry because I smudged the dog. NP, I stamped another one. This time a gnat landed on my card, and when I attemped to brush it off I accidentally smooshed it right in the middle of my white space. Ugh! So this is the third and final attempt.

With my retro style stamps, I'm participating in the challenges at Retro Sketches and Retro Rubber. The Dog stamp set was something I purchased at Papyrus in Manhattan last year when my husband had knee replacement surgery, and I've had Teeny Tiny Wishes forever!

Products Used:
Stamp Sets: Dogs (Cavallini & Co), Teeny Tiny Wishes (SU), Pawprint (All Night Media)
Card Stock: Basic Black (SU), Solar White (Neenah)
Patterned Paper: I Am (Simple Stories)
Ink Pads: Onyx Black (Versafine)
Tools: Big Shot, Stitched Rectangles Dies (Lawn Fawn)
Accessories: Subtles Buttons (SU)

Inky hugs!

  1. Well, I LOVE this card - three times a charm, right?! I remember I wanted to stamp some of these images when I was visiting....so I guess I'll have to come visit again, right?! This will be a wonderful card for your friends, I am sure they will find comfort in it. I especially love the colors, too.

  2. Sandy, our pets are members of our families so, when one dies, it leaves an empty space that could only be filled with the warm and sweet memories of them.
So sorry for your friends loss, I'm sure your beautiful card will let them know how much you care.
    Thank you for sharing.
