You're My Anchor, SSSC253

Hi there, my Inky Friends! Kind thanks to those of you have inquired about my well being during the crazy snowstorm we had in the Northeast this week. The snowfall totals weren't as bad as they initially predicted. We ended up with 14" or so. I stayed nice and warm in my house and enjoyed a day off!

Of course I spent some "Snow Day" time stamping. What can be a better excuse to head into the craft room! I have Valentine's Day cards on my mind at the moment, and with a hubby and two sons, I always need a few masculine Valentines.

The inspiration for the layout came from Karen at the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge and was perfect for what I had in mind, though I elongated the sketch from a square to a rectangle.

Though there are plenty of Valentine hearts and red areas in my card, I kept it both masculine and nautical with the sentiment, image and addition of Night of Navy. Some piercing, embossing, and a bit of Linen Thread add some texture.

  3. Hi Sandy, This card is the best. So true about being masculine and Valentine's at the same time.

  4. Great card Sandy - love the way you paired the DSP and TIEF with this masculine set. 14" of snow - my kids are so jealous, we've had barely a sprinkling here and they keep watching NY weather on the TV with envy!
