Guy Greetings, PP226 & MOJO378

Hi Stampers, and Happy 2015! It's the first challenge of the year for our new and improved Design Team at The Paper Players! We have three new permanent Design Team members and three new Guest Designers so please visit them and say hello!

Anne Marie Hile is also back from a much deserved break. She's hostess this week and has a wonderful theme challenge for us, "Everything Old is New Again". She'd like us to use something recycled or re-purposed in our project.

Though this stamp set didn't grab me at first glance, I decided that I had to have the Guy Greetings Stamp Set from the new Stampin' Up Occasions catalog, available Tuesday, January 6. I never seem to have enough masculine stamp sets, and this one has lots of great images and sentiments.

I used a couple of recycled items on my card. This nifty bag was my inspiration and I got it when I purchased a gift certificate for my hubby for a hot shave at Mad Men. The vintage buttons came out of my sewing box, and though I wound up not using them, those fun safety pins came off of jeans from Chico's.

I struggled with a layout until I found this perfect one at Mojo Monday.

I'm also playing along with Darnell's NBUS challenge as I am using the Guy Greetings Stamp Set for the very first time.

  3. That paper bag was a definite keeper Sandy - it looks great on your masculine card! It would look nice with the 'strong man' stamp too! I have yet to invest in any of the new male sets - all in good time! Congrats on your 6 month design stint over at Colour Me...! Too - well deserved!

  4. Sandy, I admit to being underwhelmed by this stamp set, but you have showcased it to perfection. And your recycling of the little bag is adorable. I love how you incorporated so many vintage details into your card...it's just beautiful!!

  6. This is the best masculine card I've seen in ages, Sandy! You have used that sketch to perfection and your card is all the cooler because you used upcycled objects/paper for your design! I'm Pinning this one, haha, no pun intended!! Thank you so much for playing in my NBUS Challenge #3!! Enjoy your day!! Hugs, Darnell

  12. Hi Sandy! I love, love, LOVE your vintage masculine creation! That bag is awesome! I used to dog sit for a family friend (who had two 100+ pound Newfoundlands) and she had a "vintage" bathroom with a cow tub and wallpaper EXACTLY like this. Seeing your card immediately triggered that memory. So glad to be back creating with you all once again. I have missed you all greatly! Big hugs! :)

  13. That was supposed to real "claw" tub...NOT cow tub. Haha! Thanks autocorrect!
