Hi Friends! Here we are rolling around to another Sunday, and halfway through November at that. Only six weeks left 'til Christmas, eek! So not ready! I think I'll work on some more Christmas cards later today, but for now I have a project for this week's challenge at The Paper Players! The wonderful Ann Schach is hostess, and her challenge is to make a clean and simple thank you card.
My card kind of stands out like a sore thumb in the gallery, LOL! Most of the Players have used an autumnal color scheme, but I wanted to play around with some of the patterns in the Trim the Tree stack, which has so many different ones. That's right, these papers are from a Christmas stack! I decided to let them take center stage and use a layout I'd seen on Pinterest.
I kind of liked this card super CAS with just the sentiment and the paper, but then I thought it photographed a little better with a butterfly embelishment. Which do you prefer? I resisted the temptation to add other embellishments as this is a CAS challenge, after all. That took some real willpower!

I couldn't wait to comment on your card, it is SO striking! I have to admit that those patterns from that paper stack are not my favorite, but the way you've used them here is just wonderful! A great way to use up scraps, too! Pinning for sure! And I like it both ways; the butterfly would be a good addition for a woman's card, but I think the unadorned one is perfectly fine for a guy!!!!
Stands out because it is gorgeous! No sore thumb in sight! Love the bold graphic design with all that white!
Absolutely breathtaking, Sandy! Perfect use of white space! I love the mix of patterns, and the wonderful sentiment! Great job, my stampin' friend!
Gorgeous card, Sandy! I love it both ways, but the butterfly adds a real "wow!" factor.
I think where you added the butterfly was the perfect spot! It's a fun card, with the pretty papers, and the layout!
If it does stand out, it's for all the right reasons Sandy - this card is so pretty! This is one of my favourite sentiments and I think your card is a great example of how seasonal papers can be used to great effect on an all-year-round card. Oh, and I love the one with the white butterfly!
I LOVE to use our papers in unexpected ways so I just LOVE your card! Very clean and crisp and the butterfly is the PERFECT finishing touch! Love!
I love that you *didn't* make a fall card for this challenge. This is a wonderful example of how versatile our papers and products can be. I didn't know what to do with those "B side" patterns in this stack but you've made them shine! Love this sketch and I agree, the butterfly is the perfect CAS touch. Love it!
Sandy, I adore the way you used the papers in an unexpected way! It is so clean and stands out in the gallery! XX
Sandy, I absolutely love the patterns you used on this sketch, they ensure that your eye moves all the way around the card. You really highlighted how a CAS card might be clean, but it cane be full of amazing details!
Gorgeous
Hugs
