The Tale of an MIA Kitty

Hi, Friends. I started this post the other day and I was hoping I'd never have to post it. Our beloved pet Oreo has been MIA since Friday night. We had dinner, he stretched out on my tummy to watch Wheel of Fortune with the family, we let him out to do his business, and we haven't seen him since. It is so unlike him as he "eats like a dog" and never misses a meal, and sleeps in our bed every night. We are all so sad and miss him so much. I thought I would share a few pic's of our best furry friend, and ask you to make a wish or say a little prayer for his safe return.

Oreo is quite infatuated with the Stampin' Up catalogs.

Of course, he likes the boxes even better than the catalogs...

This is his idea of scrapbooking...

He is also brave and willing to face the elements when neccesary...

... but can appreciate when it is time to stop and smell the roses.

He can think outside the box. While in the box.

This is my favorite picture of him. He sits politely at the table with us every night, part of the family, and never (ok almost never) attempts to put a paw on the table. This is him on Christmas Eve a year or  two ago. Isn't he debonair?

My family and I have been looking for him nonstop over the last several days. We've contacted shelters, vets, hung hundreds of signs on poles, storefronts and RR stations, gone door to door with flyers, and have alerts on several diffent websites and facebook pages. If you have any other suggestions we are open them and we thank you!

On a happy note, I have come across so many incredibly supportive and giving people over this last week and for that I am very thankful. There are so many wonderful people in this world.

Big hugs and thank to you all!

  3. Hi Sandy, I have nothing but good thoughts and wishes to send your way in hopes that Oreo returns. I too, like LeAnne had a cat go missing for 2 weeks and one day returned, thankfully. I wish the same for you. Those little furballs sure hold a special place in our hearts. All the best, Crystal

  6. Aw, Sandy. Hope you've found him by now. Our radio station does a missing/found pet announcement. Our neighbors found their dogs through it. I hope this is another idea for you.

  7. Sandy, I'm so sorry your precious Oreo is missing. He looks exactly like our Edward who passed away a few months ago at age 12. Edward went missing for about a week once and it turned out that he was locked in our neighbor's shed so you may want to check with your neighbors and have then check their sheds or any other buildings he could have gotten into. I am keeping all of you in my prayers for Oreo's safe return. I know how upsetting it is when they go missing. Hugs to you!

  11. Sandy, sorry to hear Oreo is MIA. Since he is a male cat he may have found himself a girlfriend. My cat has done that before and showed up later hungry and tired. My prayers are with you for his safe return.

  13. Oreo is darling! I'm praying he shows up soon! You've done everything right and I agree with Pam, male cats do disappear and show back up when you least expect it.

  15. Oh Sandy, I am just seeing this now. I agree with everyone else, male kitties do go off on walkabout--maybe their version of a midlife crisis. I am praying for his safe return, I know how devastating the wait can be....keep us posted...BIG ((hugs))

  16. Sandy, I've only just seen this. My heart goes out to you. There is nothing worse than not knowing. Based on what you said, you certainly have done all the right things. I'm hoping that someone saw him on his wandering and thought that he was lost and took him home where he is safe and sound.
Big hugs my friend and prayers for his safe return
