Sandpipers on the Beach for The Paper Players

Hi there, Friends! I hope you are all enjoying your long July 4 weekend! This week at The Paper Players, the lovely Nance Leedy is hostess, and she has a seasonal theme challenge for us, "Let's go to the beach"! I'm a Long Island girl so I love anything beach themed!

Surprisingly, I don't have a lot of stamp sets that would have worked for this challenge, so I had to think long and hard about this one. I envisioned a beach scene, so in the end I decided to go with the sandpiper stamp from Wetlands and put them on the beach!

The focal panel may look complicated but in reality was very easy. I simply took a piece of Post-It tape to create a mask for my horizon line and sponged below it with Pool Party, Island Indigo and Crumb Cake inks. I removed the mask and sponged above with a little more Pool Party. Everything else was stamped right over the background I created.

Stampin' Up Products Used:
Stamp Sets: Wetlands
Card Stock: Whisper White, Early Espresso
Designer Series Paper: Subtles Stack, Maritime
Ink Pads: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Pool Party, Island Indigo, Old Olive
Tools: Stampin' Sponge
Accessories: Burlap Trim, Neutrals Candy Dots
Other: Post-It Tape

Thanks for paying me a visit today, and please visit the rest of the team at The Paper Players! I hope you'll find time to play along with our challenge this week, too!

Inky hugs!
