Flower Patch for PP202

Hi there, Friends! I hope you are all enjoying a nice, relaxing weekend. I'll be spending a little time in the garden this morning and then it's off to a graduation party, but first it's my pleasure to be hostess at The Paper Players! This week it's a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge, my favorite!

For my Tic-Tac-Toe, I chose bottom left to upper right: any shade of pink, patterned paper and birthday. I never seem to have enough birthday cards.

For my layout, I chose this sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. I know I say this all the time but I love a really simple layout like this one because it leaves so much room for interpretation.

This is the first time I am inking up my Flower Patch stamp set and I have to tell you, I am in love! A few tips, though. One: they work best with the newer SU firm foam pads as they give much better coverage. Two: they need to be seasoned like any other new stamp set. To season it, give it a good scrub or two with Stampin' Mist on the Stampin' Scrub pad. Another tip from my good friend Justin that worked well is to rub the stamping surface with your fingers after cleaning, as the oils in your skin will help to season them. Hmm.. reminds me of a cast iron pot!

After a couple of "trial runs", the blossoms inked up perfectly!
