Doggie Sympathy, RS120

Hi there, Friends! Anyone who follows my blog knows I'm a Stampin' Up Demonstrator and for the most part use only SU products in my creations. However, once in a while I can't resist temptation! When my husband had knee replacement surgery a few months ago, I had many hours to wait while he was in surgery. I was in the Upper East Side of Manhattan and it was a beautiful day, so I went for a walk outside. I wandered into a Papyrus store, and found this cute, vintagey set of dog stamps and a matching cat set, too. Had to have them both! I had the occasion to use the dog set today as I needed to make a sympathy card for my sister-in-law and brother-in-law, who just had to put down their Weimaraner. They are very sad :(

I was inspired by the images right on the box, and stamped them in the same colors onto a piece of Epic Day DSP. I thought the vintage patterns in the paper worked well with the images.

I already had my focal panel stamped, and went in search of a sketch it would work with. After rotating it 90 degress to the right, the layout at Retro Sketches worked perfectly.

I didn't have an appropriate sentiment stamp for the inside, so this was just typed out in MS Word. A paw stamped on the envelope finishes things off.

But for a sad reason, so I know your BIL & SIL will certainly appreciate it. Fabulous card, that style is right up my alley!

  2. Neat-o vintage card, and I am so sorry your BIL & SIL needed it. :( Hurts a lot to lose a furry companion.
