Father's Day Shutter Card, FM157

Greetings, Stampers! Today is going to be a super fun day for me. I'll be heading to Hartford, CT along with my best stamping buddy Justin for the Stampin' Up Catalog Premiere. I can't wait to see the new In-Color's and all the new products! I think we may even get some freebies! I haven't even seen the catalog yet but I foresee I large order in my future! The new catalog will be released to the public on June 2.

It's always fun when I find a challenge and already have a perfect card for it already made that I've never posted. The challenge at The Friday Mashup is to make a fancy fold card, and that was the theme for my stamp class earlier this month. This is one of the cards we made, a shutter card for Father's Day using the By the Tide Stamp Set. Though their card is not exactly the same as mine, there is a terrific tutorial over at Splitcoast Stampers on making a shutter card.

I used a clear block with Soft Sky Ink to stamp the square in the background. I stamped the coral over it with Pistachio Pudding. The fish was stamped in Island Indigo, cut out by hand and popped up with Dimensionals. The sentiment is from the Delighful Dozen Stamp Set which is on the retirement list, as well at the Venetian Romance DSP.

Stampin' Up Products Used:
Stamp Sets: By the Tide, Delightful Dozen
Card Stock: Island Indigo, Pistachio Pudding, Very Vanilla
Designer Series Paper: Venetian Romance
Ink Pads: Soft Sky, Island Indigo, Pistachio Pudding
Accessories: Subtles Candy Dots

Sandy, I really like your card. I've always wanted to make a shutter card, but have never tried. This is a great Father's day card. Thanks for playing with the Friday Mashup!

Wow! Your card is fantastic! I love how you used a DSP pack I "labeled" as being a feminine paper and used it for a masculine card! So smart!!!

Thank you for joining us at The Friday Mashup!
