Morning Meadow Thanks, PP184

Greetings, Friends! I'm happy to report that it is my favorite day of the week, Sunday! That also means it's time for another Paper Players challenge! This week the talented Jaydee has challenged us with a simple but awesome sketch.

I immediately fell in love with Jaydee's sketch but at the same time had no idea what I wanted to do with it. The layout reminded me a bit of a card I had made before, so in the end I wound up CASing myself. To see my inspiration card you can click here. I used the same stamp set and a few of the same elements, but as you can see the end result has an entirely different feel. I hope Jaydee doesn't mind, but I used the mirror image of the sketch, otherwise the back of my bird would have (rudely) been facing the sentiment.

The Morning Meadow stamp set is one of my favorites! I used markers to color the blossom stamp and then stamped it off once before stamping twice without re-inking. The effect is very subtle. The sweet bird was stamped and cut out by hand.

The Pistachio Pudding DSP is from the Venetian Romance package, and the tape measure strip is from This & That Epic Day. Some Pistachio Pudding Ruffled Ribbon and an In Color Boutique Detail are in keeping with my monochromatic color scheme.

  2. I looooooooove this! I totally forgot about that cool measuring tape in the Epic Day paper....appeals so much to my "vintage" side! Your colors are soothing and I am glad your little bird was not rude...it looks fine facing this way!
