Happy Watercolor for The Paper Players

Hello there, friends! Nance is rocking The Paper Players this week with an awesome, trendy color challenge! Check out the new badge with an inspiration photo, too. Love it! Midnight Muse and Crisp Cantaloupe are an awesome combination on their own, but add the sparkle of gold and you have a real winner. I love these colors so much I was thinking I might like to coordinate an outfit with them, too!

I used lots of new products from the Stampin' Up Occasions Catalog on my card including the Happy Watercolor Stamp Set, Watercolor Wonder DSP and Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. I brought in the gold elements with Gold Fancy Foil Vellum, Gold Baker's Twine and gold Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape.

Always the multi-tasker, I thought I'd link up to a couple other challenges, as well. I used the sketch at Mojo Monday, and Friday Mashup has a challenge to use 3D paper piecing, as I did with my flowers.

Aren't these flowers purty? I stamped the flower three times onto my tag, and then three more times on Very Vanilla scraps. They were all colored with Crisp Cantaloupe Ink and a Blender Pen. I cut the three extra flowers out by hand, then curled up the edges a bit with a bone folder and adhered them with a Dimensional. Though you can't appreciate the sparkle in the photo, I added some Dazzling Details to the center of each flower.

Just for fun, I made a coordinating votive candle covered in gold Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape and Sequin Trim. I think a bunch of these candles would make awesome table decorations or favors.

Sandy, this is GORGEOUS! Paper piecing the flowers really makes them pop and i love the subtle coloring you gave them. The gold embossed vellum is the perfect choice and I love how there are pops of Midnight Muse. Great use of the sketch and your washi tape candle is GENIUS! Thanks for rockin' my colors! P.S. I think these would be fabulous for an outfit too!

Just beautiful, Sandy! Softness is the Cantaloupe and Gold with just a little punch of Midnight Muse. It hits just the right note!
