Hello once again, my inky friends! I'm happy to report that the sun was shining brightly and it was in the 40's yesterday, woo hoo! I think it may take an entire week of that kind of weather to melt the mountain of snow on my back deck, though. I had lots of fun making today's card and I'm pretty happy with the way it came out. I had lots of great inspiration.
I'm playing along with three challenges today. The first is the beautiful color challenge at ColourQ. What a beautiful combo, but I don't have the retired Peach Parfait or Apricot Appeal. I substituted the closest I could come up with, Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral. I hope it will do. The awesome layout is compliments of Mojo Monday.
I'm also playing along with a new challenge called The Card Concept, where this week they are asking that we use a floral theme. I think the hardest part of this challenge is to name my style. I decided that my card best suits the "Clean and Layered" category.
I wanted to have lots of white space to allow the colors to really pop. I was able to layer white on white by adding some texture with embossing and piercing. The flowers and leaves were cut out by hand, and the layers of the larger flower separated by Dimensionals.
