Furry Kisses, CTD279 & TSTR205

Happy Valentine's Day, Friends! Anyone who follows my blog knows how much I love to play along with challenges. One of the challenges I play along with when I can is Festive Friday, and through them I was fortunate enough to be the winner of a Simon Says Stamp gift certificate! I'd always admired their cute kitty stamps from afar, and took advantage of this opportunity to pick up a couple of them. So, a big fat Thank You to Festive Friday!

On the subject of challenges, I'm playing along with three today. The first one is the challenge at Color Throwdown. I was inspired not only by the colors, but the cute inspiration photo. I couldn't wait to stamp my new kitties!

I needed a good size field for my kitties to snuggle, and the layout by Lesley at The Shabby Tea Room was just perfect.

Since I'm using a Simon Says Stamp set for the very first time, I thought it only right to play along with their challenge this week too, which is We Love Stamps!

There is one more source of inspiration for my card, my own gray kitty, Oreo and his friend (or girlfriend?) that comes calling for him from time to time, name unknown. We just refer to her as Orange Fluffy Tail, because that's what she looks like. I didn't color her orange because it would have thrown off the color challenge too much, so I opted for Crumb Cake instead.

I haven't posted any Oreo photos in a while, so here we go... (Orange Fluffy Tail is elusive and I have no photos of him/her):

It's been a tough winter for Oreo, too. Here he is trudging through the snow. Before anyone tells me how mean I am, I have to add that we do have a litter box in the house, Oreo just refuses to use it. I guess he believes in the "don't poop where you eat" theory.

Little kitty pawprints in the snow. How precious. We do shovel a "poopy path" for him. Ok, now go ahead and tell me how ridiculous I am that we have a name for that!

OK, I want to come in now. Wait, is that an icicle hanging from his chest??? I swear I did not leave him out there that long! I'm going to say that's a drip on the glass.

Oreo's favorite place, curled up in a ball at the foot of a bed, paw blocking the sunlight. Trust me, life is good for this rescued little furball.

  2. Aw, Oreo makes me miss my little kitty....although when I saw the poopy trail, I am reminded of the "work" involved in having pets, LOL! I will just stick with the stamped kitties, like the ones on your card, which are ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE! Oh my gosh, what a stinkin' cute card. Your coloring is perfect, I had to click on the photo to get a better look! Awesome! Happy Valentine's Day, my friend! ♥

  6. I don't know what I love more, your sweet card or your Oreo. What a cutie he is. Some kitties just prefer to "do their business" au naturel. I'm shocked he isn't fazed by the snow though. Mine can't handle getting their feet wet and pitch a fit if they step in water. Lol! Happy Valentine's Day! :)

  7. Love the the pics of Oreo! I have to laugh - we can have a 52 below wind chill and my cat wants out! We had 82 mph wind gusts and he wanted out! He sits on the front steps for the whole neighborhood to see and think "that poor cat!" I enjoy your cards and projects, too!

  9. Great cards, as always. Thanks for the belly laughs at Oreo's expense. FWIW, we shovel a path for our dog, too, when the snow gets deep. It's quicker and easier to just towel off the paws rather than the whole animal.

  10. LOVE your adorable kitty card, Sandy! And thanks so much for naming the "poopy path"! With 3 cats, I had to have one of those too! My babies also prefer the outside, which is just fine with me! your Oreo is beautiful! Thanks for playing along with us at the Color Throwdown!
