You Make Me Happy: CQC224, FMS119 & FM143

I remember when I was new to the paper-crafty world and I when I first started visiting other people's blogs for inspiration. I saw the confusing mix of letters and numbers in the title, and felt like they had some secret code that I was not privy to, and felt quite lost and alone! Many, many hours later I figured out that they were just keywords so others can find your work. So... if you are a new stamper or new to the blogosphere, CQC is the ColorQ Challenge, FMS is Freshly Made Sketches and FM is The Friday Mashup. Visit them all for some amazing inspiration!

This week has been a Valentine's Day journey for me. It sounds quite romantic, but actually is wasn't, lol! I spent most of it all alone in my craft-a-torium, making cards for loved ones and friends. I've been a crafty and busy little beaver! This one is for one of my sons, and I wanted it to be kind of masculine but now I'm not sure. What do you think?

I didn't play along with the challenge colors, but I did play along with the theme of "Hearts & Arrows" at The Friday Mashup. I love the inspiration photo, too! I went through my entire stash of stamps and was only able to locate one with an arrow, the Hello Lovely stamp set. I started from there.

The Libra in me has an aversion to things "askew". However, after seeing all the amazing samples at Freshly Made Sketches I had to conquer my fears and play along. Plus, I thought the trendy layout would be perfect for a masculine Valentine.

Finally (or firstly, I can't remember) is the color challenge at ColorQ, which I adore. I changed out the Poppy Parade to Calypso Coral as I don't have Poppy. I hope it's close enough. And FYI, spell check keeps wanting to change Poppy to Poopy. So if I missed one, a thousand pardons please.

  1. I love this, Sandy! I wouldn't put Epic Day DSP at the top of my favorites list - but I love everything I see with it. Beautiful!

  2. Fabulous card, Sandy! I love this dsp for masculine cards (I just love this dsp, period). And I love how you got creative with the heart and arrow. If this is the only arrow you have in your collection, it sounds like you have a perfect excuse to do some stamp shopping. ;)

  5. Spellcheck. First World problem but definitely frustrating, huh? It won't let me curse, but it does change a lot of words to "poopy". Love the card. You've incorporated some nice whimsical elements that still give a masculine "feel".
