Watercolor Winter, PP174 & CCMC279

Greetings, Stampers! How are you all doing on the last day of this long Thanksgiving weekend? Mine has been pretty productive. I got up nearly all my Christmas decorations, inside and out. Today will spent with the finishing touches and tidying up, then getting ready for my stamp-a-stack tomorrow night.

This week at The Paper Players, the incredibly talented LeAnne has a fun "Evergreen" challenge for us to play along with. I had so many ideas swirling around in my head and must admit this was not my first take on the challenge. Ultimately I decided to stay true to the colors and the foliage.

I dusted off a couple of retired stamp sets and some DSP today. My color combo is an earthy Very Vanilla, Always Artichoke and Eary Espresso, with just a touch of Cherry Cobbler for the greeting.

I went searching for a layout and thought the one at Create with Connie and Mary was just perfect. I love the rounded corners and the single strip in the background.

I love a holiday card in earthy colors, but I thought this one needed a little sparkle to liven things up. I added a strip of Silver Glimmer Paper in the background, and even broke out some Dazzling Diamonds glitter. Yes, I actually used glitter! Anyone who knows me, knows what a huge glitter phobe I am. I cleaned up my work space throughly when I was done, and after I had taken a photo of my card I tucked it safely away in a clear envelope where it can't contaminate anything else, LOL! I must say I really do like the end result, and may break out the glitter again soon!

Absolutely stunning! It was definitely worth the glitter contamination and clean up that followed! :-)

LOL, that glitter multiplies when you get it out doesn't it! It sure is pretty on your pine branches though! And I love the Cherry Cobbler sentiment!

So beautiful...I always love sprigs of evergreens and pinecones and sad that SU hasn't had a set with one for a while now! Love how you added sparkle in the background and on the pine needles. Thanks for playing along with the sketch challenge this week on Create with Connie and Mary!

I am so glad you showed a close up of those gorgeous pine boughs! I LOVE the diamonds you added--they look like freshly fallen snow. This is a perfect use of the sketch and the silver glimmer paper is the perfect accent...a lovely card, my friend!
