Hello, all! It is really Monday? With two holidays right in the middle of the week it's been hard for me to keep track of what day it is, lol! It was such an awfully gray, dismal day here in NY yesterday. It poured all day long and there was no natural light whatsoever to take pictures, so I apologize for the less than stellar photograph. Maybe the sun will come out later today an I'll take a better one.
In the meantime, I'll share what I do have: A card for two challenges with a bit of a sneak peek, the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper. This paper is loaded with bright, beautiful patterns but I chose the one with the Smoky Slate dots and just a snippet of yellow for this simple birthday card.
This amazing layout is courtesy of Amy at Freshly Made Sketches. Great sketch, Amy! I know I'll use this one again.
I'm also playing along with the "Anything Goes" challenge at Seize the Birthday.
When I started out with this gray/ yellow color scheme I had intended on it being a masculine card. After I added a little strip of Silver Foil I decided I needed to complement it with some silver sequins. Then I added a Baker's Twine bow to replace the stitching in the sketch. Now I don't think it's a suitable male card any more. What do you think?
