Stippled Blossoms Birthday, MOJO317 & CTD266

Zoom... here we are in November already! I hope you all had a fun Halloween yesterday. I spent a relaxing evening handing out candy to Trick-or-Treaters and making sure kitty Oreo was safe and sound. How about you?

Most of my projects lately have been for either Autumn, Halloween or Christmas. I needed to take a break from making holiday cards, so I pulled out my well loved Stippled Blossoms stamp set to make a birthday card. I have lots of birthdays coming up in November and December.

My first source of inspiration was this delicious color combination from Color Throwdown. I love pinks and browns together. I didn't have Close to Cocoa though, so I substituted Chocolate Chip.

The layout is from this week's Mojo Monday sketch. I used a little creative license on this sketch; I hope they don't mind! Instead of a square I used a rectangle for my card base, and I shifted the whole sketch a little to the right and down. For the two smaller circles I substituted flowers.

The used Blushing Bride and Cherry Cobbler for the two-steps flowers. For the leaves I used Old Olive for both steps, stamping off once to stamp the base in a lighter shade. The embossing folder used for the background and the ribbon are both from the Stampin' Up Holiday Catalog. The sentiment comes from the Wetlands stamp set.

  5. Lovely - one of my all time favorite sets. There is a die set made for this if you don't love fussy cutting. Not made by SU - but works wonderfully.

  6. How did you trim so evenly around your leaves? Did you just scissor cut this? Your color combination is fabulous. I adore the Blushing Bride and Cherry Cobbler together. GREAT card.
