Fall Banner for FMS136

Hi there, Stampers! Am I the only one out there that thinks that Thanksgiving is the forgotten holiday? It seems like there are so many decorations and so much attention paid to Halloween, and then we skip right on to Christmas. I love Thanksgiving and Autumn, love the colors of the turning leaves and really love the food! I thought the Thanksgiving decorations around my house looked rather bare so I decided to make this fall banner yesterday, inspired by this banner that I made for Halloween.

The design team over at Friday Mashup must be of a like mind, because they have a 3-D Autumn themed challenge going on this week. Here's the Mashup Challenge: Create a project with "Baked Brown Sugar, Always Artichoke & Crushed Curry", or Create a "3-D project", or Mash it Up and create a "3-D Project with the above Color Combo." I didn't quite get their color scheme going on as I wanted to use my Sweater Weather DSP, so I hope the banner will do as a 3-D project.

It was such a dark, gray day here in New York yesterday and it was super hard to get a good picture of the entire banner, so my apologies. The close up shots look a little better. I loved the plaid pattern in the Sweater Weather DSP, and that was the basis of my color scheme. Just like my Halloween banner, the larger sections of the banner measure 3" x 4 1/2". On top is a rosette I made using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool. The letters were stamped with the Notable Alphabet set.

The smaller sections of the banner measure 2" x 2 1/2". The leaves were cut using the Autumn Accents Bigz Die, and I included leaves cut from Champagne Glimmer Paper for some sparkle.

Beautiful banner Sandy, and I agree about Thanksgiving getting lost in the bustle between Halloween and Christmas.

I love the Sweater Weather DSP and you used it perfectly on your sparkling banner. The shimmer accents are fabulous!

Thanks so much for playing along with us at The Friday Mashup!
