Hello there to you all on this fine Wednesday! It's supposed to be a lovely day here in NY, 80 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. Hopefully the humidity will start to let up a bit. It has been so terribly humid, the insects are out in force, and my daughter and I keep getting eaten up by mosquitoes. I think they like girls better! The men in my house never get bit. Why is that?
Yes, it's still in the 80's and I'm making Christmas cards! Not that I am wishing snow or anything upon us, but some cooler, drier weather would be quite refreshing. Plus I have a brand new stamp set that needing inking up, Warmth & Wonder. I love this set! The images are very traditional and right up my alley.
Speaking of traditional, check out the challenge at Merry Monday this week! It's a color challenge plus an embellishment: red, green and kraft plus ribbon, twine or burlap. Love it! Count me in!
Hmm, I wasn't sure if my card would work for the trigger challenge at Festive Friday, to create a project based on the word 'Peace'. I didn't have a sentiment with the word Peace in it that would fit. But the simple tree makes me think of the tree in the Charlie Brown Christmas cartoon, and the little speech that Linus gives about the true meaning of Christmas. And of course the soundtrack by Vince Guaraldi. C'mon, you've all seen it, haven't you? Did you smile and feel all warm and fuzzy and peaceful? Ok, I know I'm stretching a bit... but I love Charlie Brown and his silly tree.
My Charlie Brown tree was stamped in Old Olive ink onto Whisper White Card Stock. The ornaments and sentiment were stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder. Simple.
