Halloween Hello for The Paper Players

Hooray for Sunday! It's Paper Players challenge day! This week Nance has a fabulous sketch for us to play along with! However, I must tell you that I am really challenged by things on an angle. The Libra in me likes everything symmetrical and balanced. I have to confess I had a hard time with this challenge, but brave girl that I am, I marched forward. Nance, you've forced me to use a dormant part of my brain, thank you!

I decided on a note sized card, 3 1/2" x 5". The angled lines made me think of Washi Tape, and my Washi Tape made me think of Halloween, and it went from there. I mirrored the sketch because I wanted Brunhilda to be flying on her broom toward the center of the card and the greeting.

I used the leftover circle piece of the Kind and Cozy Stamp Set, and inked just the edges to create my moon. I stamped the witch on top, then punched it with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch. Super easy, but that's what Washi Tape projects are all about!

  3. I have to say, when I saw the sketch, I thought washi tape too!

I was just commenting over on Jaydee's card that although I love to put furniture on a diagonal in my home, I have a very difficult time doing so on a card. You made it look easy!

I totally agree--Brunhilda HAD to fly uphill and towards the center!

  4. Sandy, I love that you put the washi tape on the opposite angle. Your sponged focal point is perfect. Like you, I'm not comfortable with things on an angle... but you rocked it!

  5. Sandy, I love how you "mirrored" the sketch. It totally gives the appearance that that little witchy lady is flying into the sky. Such a fun Halloween card! :)
