Birthday Basics & Little Leaves, FMS95

Stampers, do you ever have a little paper scrap of something that you think you might use again but you don't know how? And then that little scrap sits around for days, weeks, months or maybe years? I know you do! Read on if you want to hear the evolution of today's project.

My inspiration was the awesome sketch by Narelle this week at Freshly Made Sketches. I thought it was an awesome layout to combine some coordinating patterns of DSP. Usually I'll start my card from the inside out, meaning I'll create the focal piece first and then add layers behind it. This time, it was all about the layers and then I was left to figure out what to do for the last layer on top.

Tried as I might, I couldn't come up with a stamped image that I liked. Then, as I spilled out my bag of Very Vanilla scraps, out fell this little square of card stock that was leftover when I die cut with my Little Leaves Sizzlit. Perfect, don't you think? All that was left to do was stamp a simple sentiment. I love when that happens!

  1. Just lovely, Sandy....an interesting color combo. I love ALL those Birthday Basics papers, but that plaid scared me a little. I think you have helped allay my fears, I might actually use it!
