Bloomin' Marvelous Z-fold Card

Greetings, Stampers! Last night I held my Fancy Folds technique class. This was one of the cards we made, and it's called a Z-Fold Card. It uses the recently retired stamp set Bloomin' Marvelous which was offered during Sale-A-Bration. I had intended on holding this class before that promotion ended, but you know, life gets in the way sometimes. I loved the card so much, though, I decided we should make it anyway.

The stamping design was cased from one of my fellow demonstrators, though she didn't make a Z-fold card with it. It is super easy to make, and I'm going to give you all the measurements. The card base was cut from Lucky Limeade, 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". The Whisper White panel is 5 1/4" x 11". It's scored at 2" and 3 3/4", then turn it and score it again at the same measurements on the other end. The embossed panels measure 1 7/8" x 5 1/8". The top layer of Lucky Limeade measures 3" x 4 1/4", and the White panel on top of that measures 4" x 2 3/4". Then just stamp, fold, emboss and put it together!

Oops! My greeting wasn't quite dry yet and it smudged a bit. Make sure you don't let that happen to you! You should always give the darkest colors and reds a minute to dry when you stamp on white or vanilla.

  3. I do have a technical question. How did you emboss the sides? I tried twice with my machines. I have a Big Shot and a Cuddlebug. To fit the sides into the embossing folder, I couldn't turn sideways to fit thru machines. And to run straight through, I had to do both folded parts of each side (if that makes sense), but then it was so tight, the little honey combs actually cut through in some areas. :(

    1. The embossed panels were cut separately. They measure 1 7/8" x 5 1/8". I stamped first, then embossed and then attached to the card base.
