World's Greatest Dad for DD49 & FMS82

Greetings, Stampers, and Happy Monday! I know there are those of you out there who despise Mondays, but I like them. I feel as though Monday is the start of a new week and a chance to start over. I set my goals for the week on Monday and I'm always optimistic about getting things done. Silly, perhaps, but that's the way my brain works!

Today I have a masculine card for two challenges. If features the World's Greatest stamp, on loan to me by a good friend. Isn't it awesome to have friends who stamp, too?

This week it's "Black Tie" week at Dynamic Duos and the colors are Basic Gray and Basic Black. Your first inclination may be to use Whisper White with theses colors, but I really like how they look with Very Vanilla instead. The dessert option is to make a masculine card, so I took the opportunity to make a Father's Day card.

The sketch by Jen over at Freshly Made Sketches was perfect for a simple masculine card. This was one of those rare times when I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it right away. I love when that happens!

Since the layout was so simple, I wanted to jazz things up a bit by adding some shine. The greetings were both heat embossed with black embossing powder. The oval, banner and label were all cut out with Framelits.

Stampin' Up Products Used:

This is a great "guy" card, Sandy! I love the colors and the embossing. I got this stamp last month and haven't used it yet -- thanks for the inspiration!
