Greetings, Stampers! I hope you're all enjoying a lazy Sunday morning as I am. It's supposed to be beautiful here in New York today, almost 70 degrees. Welcome, Spring! I'm so happy to have winter finally behind us. Today at The Paper Players Ann has a sketch for us to work with. I thought this would be a good layout for a masculine card, so I opted for a Father's Day Card. I rotated it 90 degrees and flipped it to accommodate my sentiment.
This is really a simple card so there is not a heck of a lot to talk about. The card base is Crumb Cake. I embossed the center panel with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. I used Parker's Patterns Designer Series Paper for the banners.
The greeting is from the Delightful Dozen stamp set, and I punched it out with an Extra Large Oval Punch. I embossed the oval behind it using the Designer Frames Embossing Folder and cut it out by hand. A little Cherry Cobbler button and a piece of Linen Thread, and you're done!

I LOVE this card! Did you add the embossed panel or is the card base embossed? Love your work!
Hi, Elisha, and thank you! I embossed a strip of card stock and attached it over the card base. Kind of looks like it's all one piece, but it's not.
Great card! I had the same thought as Elisha! :-)
I LOVE this card...nice & simple, great colors that pop, and cool banner treatment! Just right for a FD card!
What a great manly card, Sandy! I love the way you flipped the sketch and I love the embossed frame around the sentiment.
Love, love, love it, Sandy! The embossed strip down the middle forms the perfect backdrop for those awesome Parker's Patterns designs!
Sandy, I am in love with the natural colors here. The embossed piece in the center of the card is such an eye-catcher. Also, love that you turned the sketch on its side.
Sandy, I love that you flipped the sketch! It looks fantastic this way too. These colors and patterns are perfect for a father's day card and I LOVE the texture! Way to rock it!
It might be simple Sandy but it's beautifully effective! I've been enjoying all your sneak peeks too - can't wait to get my inky little fingers on all these gorgeous new items!
