Greetings, Stampers! Today I'm sending this card via the blog waves to the amazing Vicki Burdick. Her birthday was on Wednesday, and her friends at Always Playing with Paper are having a linky party for her. Though I've haven't ever had the chance to meet Vicki in person, we bump into each other now and again on challenge sites, and I'm a huge admirer of her work. So, this card is "For You", Vicki! I hope you are having a happy birthday week!
I used the sketch from this week's challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. The large panel was perfect to plant some posies on.
I tried to channel Vicki a bit when I designed this card. I know she likes lots of layers, texture and embellishments (like me!), and she creates the most beautiful cards with florals. I thought the roses from the Elements of Style stamp set would be perfect. I stamped them with Black Stazon ink, and colored them with Ink Pads and a Blender Pen. I took a shot from the side so you could see that I added some Dazzling Details to the flower centers.
Nearly every product used to make this card is on the Stampin' up retirement list, including the Elements of Style Stamp Set, and all the colors of card stock and ink, as well as the Designer Series Paper. To find out what is retiring and order "last chance" items, click here.
