Blooming with Kindness for The Paper Players

Greetings, Stampers! Are you all enjoying your weekend? Well you're about to enjoy it even more, because Anne Marie over at The Paper Players has an awesome color challenge for us!  Aren't these colors beautiful together? After you're done reading my post, be sure to go over and visit their site to see all the other gorgeous creations made by the design team using these colors.

Before I tell you about my project, I just want to say a big thank you to all of those who left me a comment, mailed a card or emailed condolences over the passing of my mother. Your kind, sweet thoughts were very uplifting and I treasure each one. Big inky hugs!

I cased myself when I created this card. I'd made one with a similar layout about a month ago and really liked the way it came out, so I thought I would re-create it using different colors and stamps. Casing is a great way to get yourself out of a designing slump! The greeting and image both come from the Blooming with Kindness Stamp Set.

The chrysanthemum was stamped in Island Indigo ink onto Very Vanilla card stock. I used Baja Blue ink and an Aqua Painter to fill it in a bit. It was cut out with an Apothecary Accents Framelits die and then the edges were sponged with Crumb Cake ink. I created an oval shaped doily by cutting a Tea Lace doily in half, trimming it a bit, and piecing it back together. The seam was covered with some Crumb Cake Taffeta Ribbon.

Your card is just lovely...this is one of my favorite floral images and I like ANYTHING in blue! The way you cut the doily to make it an oval is ingenious! TFS!

You created such a beautiful card to showcase the colors and I love all of the pretty elements you added, especially that decorative tape. I forgot I bought that until I saw your card. THanks for the inspiration, as always. Big hugs! :)
