Nature Walk for The Paper Players

Greetings, Stampers! This week at The Paper Players, Anne Marie has a fabulous sketch for us to work with. I love this sketch! It has so many great layers and so many possibilities.

I cased myself today. I'd made a similar card about a year ago using the Nature Walk Stamp Set. It's one of my favorites, so I thought I'd re-create it using this sketch.

For more inspiration I used the colors at Color Throwdown this week. The colors combined with the inspiration photo shouted Country French to me, and that's the style I tried to mimic. I didn't have any pretty Garden Green patterned paper, though, so I substituted Old Olive.

What better stamp to use for a Country French style card than the En Francais Background Stamp? I stamped it Versamark Ink onto Crumb Cake Card Stock, then heat embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder. Though I couldn't quite capture it in the photo, the script has a pretty sheen to it.

I have a quick stampin' tip for you to get your card stock perfectly lined up with the script on your En Francais stamp, or any other background stamp for that matter. Ink up your stamp first, then lay it down face up. Carefully place your card stock where you want it to be. Then take a large clear block (this is Stampin' Up's clear block 'F'), and press down with the clear block. Carefully remove the card stock. Tweezers work well here.

The flower image was inked with Real Red and Old Olive Markers. I stamped once, then a second time without re-inking for a lighter image.

Stampin' Up Products Used:
Stamp Sets: Nature Walk, Teeny Tiny Wishes, En Francais Background Stamp
Card Stock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Crumb Cake
Designer Series Paper: Twitterpated
Ink Pads: Versamark, Basic Black
Markers: Old Olive, Real Red
Tools: Heat Tool, Modern Label and Scallop Trim Border Punches
Accessories: Clear Embossing Powder, Real Red Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, White Baker's Twine, Brights Buttons

Thanks for visiting today! Inky hugs!

Absolutely gorgeous Sandy! Love the layers and the mix of stamp sets. I really like your tip about inking up the background images too. I have used a brayer before and have had 50/50 success with it. I tried the technique you shared and now I will never do it any other way. Thank you...and thank you for rocking my sketch this week! Hugs! :)
