Chalkboard Birthday for Three Challenges

Greetings, Stampers, and Happy Monday! Me weekend went by in a blur, as always, but I did manage to squeeze in some time to make a quick card. OK, maybe not so quick. I kept staring at this card and walking away, then coming back and changing it up a bit. Don't you hate when that happens? I just wasn't finding my Mojo. This is what I ended up with, a card for three different challenges, something I have not accomplished in a long time.

Dynamic Duos, I've missed you! This is one of my favorite challenges, but I've been away from my ink pad collection for a while and never had the right colors. I'm so happy to play along again! This week the duo is So Saffron and Basic Black, the perfect start for my masculine card.

The Friday Mashup this week is to make a project using the Chalkboard Technique, a project using two or more stamp sets, or both. I perused my stamp collection and decided on Bring on the Cake and Kindness Matters for my chalkboard.

Pulling it all together was the layout provided by Freshly Made Sketches. Such a great layout; I know I'll use it again.

The images were stamped with Versamark Ink onto Basic Black Card Stock, then heat embossed with White Embossing Powder. A little Whisper White Craft Ink was sponged randomly. Remember, less is more when it comes to the sponging part of the Chalkboard Technique!

Stampin' Up Products Used:
Stamp Sets: Bring on the Cake, Kindness Matters
Card Stock: Whisper White, Basic Black, So Saffron
Designer Series Paper: Tea for Two
Ink Pads: Versamark, Whisper White Craft
Tools: Heat Tool, Piercing Tool, Essentials Paper Piercing Pack and Mat, Stampin' Sponge
Accessories: White Embossing Powder, Basics Designer Buttons, Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon, White Baker's Twine

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day!

Well, Sandy...I guess I haven't been ON your blog for a few weeks because I just saw the news about your hubby. SO thankful that he is on the mend and you are back home! Very stressful time, I'm sure!

Great images. I love that hand stamp! It is so aggravating when those cards just don't want to be assembled quickly and easily. :) Thanks for joining the Friday Mashup this week.

Well, you ended up with a cute card! I love your chalkboard technique. I still need to give that technique a go. I have a couple of cards on my desk that have been sitting there for quite a while, awaiting a moment of inspiration to finish. Maybe we should swap out, and I could find some inspiration to finish yours and you could find some to finish mine. :) Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!
