Greetings, Stampers! It was quite lovely here in New York yesterday, a balmy 50 degrees, which is a real treat in January. If I'm lucky, the weather will hold out until the weekend so I can bike to the beach. If I get there, I'll post some photos for you.
In the meantime, I still have a bunch more Valentine's Day cards to make. Today's project is a masculine Valentine for my hubby, and I think he'll appreciate the clean lines and simple embellishments. I think most men like clean and simple cards the best, at least the ones in my house do.
I went in search of a CAS (clean and simple) layout for hubby's card, and the sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches was just perfect. I used three brads instead of two, as I have this thing about grouping things in odd numbers. Perhaps I'm a bit odd myself!
The only stamps that were used for this card was the greeting from the Family Reunion Stamp Set. I love to personalize a card for the recipient and I use this stamp set a lot. I used a Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to ensure that the two stamped images were perfectly lined up.
Both patterned papers are from the Neutrals Stack of Designer Series Paper. Three punches were the only tools used. I gave the Big Shot a day off for a change! A simple strip of ribbon plus the three silver brads are elegant but masculine embellishments. I think hubby will like it, what do you think?
