Happy New Year Owl Two Ways

Wow, can you believe Christmas is already behind us? I hope you all had a nice holiday. I spent a relaxing day at my brother and sister-in-law's house, had a great meal, and sat in front of their toasty fireplace. It was quite festive!

If you are like me, there is always one or two people you wish you had sent a Christmas card to but didn't. If that's the case, how about a Happy New Year card instead? This one features my buddy Mr. Owl again, making one more appearance before I pack him away for a little while. He's sporting a tuxedo today, complete with a boutonniere. Isn't he dashing?

Pals Paper Arts provided the perfect layout for me to show off Mr. Owl. I thought that black pinstripe would be quite elegant for the three background strips, which comes from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack.

But wait, there's more! Here's a second version of the Happy New Year Owl, clean and simple style. The owl become even more the focal point of the card when standing in a field of Whisper White.

Week 99-100 Recipe: Drinks!

I thought that my card would be perfect for the Simply Less is More theme challenge for this week: Drinks! The only problem was that the first version of the card wasn't exactly clean and simple enough, so I recreated a second version for this challenge. I can't decide which one I like better. What do you think?

For both versions of this card, I stamped the champagne glass image from the Happy Hour Stamp Set in Basic Black, then again in Summer Starfruit. I trimmed the champagne and layered it right on top, adorned with some tiny pearls for bubbles. His tuxedo shirt was punched with the Petite Pennants punch, and the boutonniere with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.

Stampin' Up! Products Used:
Stamp Sets: Happy Hour, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Card Stock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Soft Suede
Designer Series Paper: Neutrals Stack
Ink Pads: Basic Black, Summer Starfruit
Tools: Two Step Owl, Word Window, Petite Pennants, 2 1/2 Circle and Itty Bitty Shapes Punches, Big Shot, Labels Collection Framelits
Accessories: Pearls, Neutrals Brads, Red Glimmer Paper

Happy Stamping!

These are adorable owls cards, Sandy, as are the ones you've done in your prior posts I've just visited!

(BTW, great minds! I didn't do an owl card for LIM, but I did do the same thing where the first card I made was not CAS, so I had to make another one which I'll post tomorrow.)

Happy New Year!!
