All Aboard the Christmas Train

Greetings, Stampers! Yup, I have a few more holiday projects to post. We're getting down to the wire, now! This card was one of the last batch of cards that I made for the season. I think I mentioned once before that my DH is a retired railroad conductor, and as a result, he has many railroad buddies. This was one of the cards that went out to those friends, and was made with a long retired Stampin' Up stamp set called All Aboard. This particular image reminds me of an old fashioned train set that might circle a Christmas tree, and I thought it would be fun to color it in red and green.

The image was stamped with Black Stazon Ink onto Very Vanilla card stock, and colored with ink pads and an Aqua Painter. I must say, coloring organic things like trees and flowers I find so easy, but a mechanical device was a little more challenging. It took me a couple of tries until I came up with something that pleased me. Then I made a bunch more!

Stampin' Up! Products Used:
Stamp Sets: All Aboard (r), Teeny Tiny Wishes
Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Real Red, Garden Green
Designer Series Paper: Merry Moments (r)
Ink Pads: Black Stazon, Real Red, Garden Green, Basic Gray
Tools: Aqua Painter
Accessories: Crumb Cake Taffeta Ribbon

Thanks for stopping at this station!

Love it! That train is so great. It really does look like one that would be under the Christmas Tree! :-)

Your beautiful coloring adds to the simple elegance of the card. I'm sure your husband's railroad buddies have put your card in a place of honor.

What a beautiful train card! My 4 year old great-grandson is into trains, and I thought of him the minute I saw your card. Love the colors. I can see that as a birthday card as well. Thanks so much for sharing this with us.
