Lovely as a Tree for FMS63

Greetings, Stampers! I've got several birthdays I need to make cards for during the month of December, so I thought I'd take a little break from holiday cards and work on birthday cards. A few of the birthdays are men, and what better stamp set to use for a masculine card than Lovely as a Tree?

The layout was inspired by this week's challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. I thought the shape cut with the Apothecary Accent Die would be a fun change from the scallop circle. Plus, my tree was a perfect fit!

The tree image was stamped with Black Stazon Ink and then colored with Ink Pads and an Aqua Painter. It looks like I spent hours on it, when really it took five minutes! The edges of the die cut shape were pierced with a Paper Piercing Tool and Essentials Paper Piercing Pack. I love how the templates coordinate perfectly with so many different shapes.

The problem with dark colored card bases is that it is difficult to stamp your personalization on the back. The perfect solution is this tiny message from the Tiny Tags Stamp Set, punched with the Jewelry Tag Punch. Love it!

  3. This card is most definitely lovely as a tree! That set is one of my favorites and it's always a joy to see it used. It is perfect for the masculine birthday you've created. I've never stamped it and colored it, so thanks for a new idea to try out. Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches this week.
