A Quilt for Wendy

Greetings, Stampers! Today is my big sister Wendy's birthday. She commented once on a collection of quilted cards I had pinned on Pinterest, so I thought I would make one for her. The quilt pattern is borrowed from one of my fellow Stampin' Up Demonstrators, Julie. It's a simple card to do, but does require some patience. The squares were all punched with a 1" Square Punch, and then some of them were cut in half. I went through my stash of Designer Series Paper and chose paper from three different packages, as I was searching for the perfect combination of tiny calico-like patterns. After my quilt was complete, I ran it through the Big Shot with an embossing folder to give it some texture.

The greeting within a banner mimics the pattern, and was found in the Itty Bitty Banners Stamp Set. It was cut out with the coordinating Bitty Banners Framelit. Three half squares at the bottom balance things out.

I absolutely love this card. I am a quilter and have many friends that are. Would love to make a box of these for my mother as she also is a quilter. Love the old small calico look to the papers you chose.
