Run for the Warriors

Greetings, All! As you can see, I do not have a paper project to share with you today. Instead, I thought I would share some information about an event I will be participating in one week from today, Saturday, October 20. As a Marine Mom, anything to support our military is close to my heart. When I found out about this cause, I signed up right away.

It's called the 5th Annual Long Island Run For The Warriors®This race is dedicated to the men and women wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan, their families, and families of the fallen. It is a celebration of their strength and resolve and a promise to continue restoring self, family, and hope. By uniting the entire community, military and civilian alike, this unique event embraces wounded warriors and their families in the shared belief that there is hope beyond recovery. All proceeds from the race will benefit wounded warriors and their families through the many Hope For The Warriors® programs. Monies raised will assist with both immediate and future needs.

Please support this cause by making a donation. Donations can be made by clicking on this link to enter your donation online:

and enter my name: Sandy Mathis. If you prefer to mail a check, contact me for my mailing address. Donations of any size are welcome.

Thank you so much for your support, and wish me luck next week!
