Greetings, Stampers, and Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Mine was awesome! I have a card for you today that combines three challenges, but to hear about an even bigger challenge I accomplished yesterday, make sure you scroll down to the end of this post.
Create with Connie and Mary has such a pretty color challenge this week. I knew right away I wanted to use Twitterpated Designer Series Paper to bring all the colors together. They are a little nontraditional for a wedding card, but I love it. I think it's a very soft and romantic combination.
I used the Freshly Made Sketches challenge for my layout. For the "any shape" part of it, I originally intended to cut out the wedding gown, but it looked too small and kind of lost on my card. So I stamped and embossed it a second time leaving it on the rectangular shaped card stock. Not the most interesting of shapes, but hey, a rectangle is a shape, right?
The Tic Tac Toe Challenge from The Paper Players is my favorite! I started at the bottom left corner up to the top right for my Tic Tac Toe: Colors: Red & Blue, Wedding or Anniversary, and Ribbon. Fun!
Doesn't the wedding gown look just lovely heat embossed in white? The little flower at the waist was made with a punch from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack, and a single elegant pearl finishes things off.

Now for my personal achievement... Yesterday I completed my first ever 5K! I know, that's not such a big deal, but it was for me. A year ago in October I had a "milestone" birthday. I wasn't feeling so great at the time, always tired and feeling very overweight. A few doctor's visits later, I found out that I had an under active thyroid, plus I was deficient in B vitamins, even though I was taking vitamins. I took care of those issues and started exercising, vowing to lose weight and run a 5K by the next birthday. I started a little too ambitiously and gave myself Tendonitis in both knees. Off to the physical therapist I went. To make a long story short, here I am a year later, 20 pounds lighter and having finished my first 5K. It's a happy day for me!
Thanks for taking the time to read this extra long post, and have a great week, everyone!
