Daring Adventure and Fan Fair

I had the Daring Adventure Stamp Set out on my desk the other day, and while it was there I thought I'd go ahead and make a card for my son's birthday, which is later this month. He is actually the reason I purchased this set as I thought it was so perfect for him. Not only is he into daring adventures (we're talking a motorcycle driving, skydiving, rock climbing, surfing, US Marine), but he's also a sign language student, so I know he'll appreciate the quote from Helen Keller.

The layout from Pals Paper Arts this week was perfect for the large greeting, and I love the flagged layer. I thought the Fan Fair Designer Series Paper was a perfect accompaniment, with a background of interesting maps.

I tried to keep the details as masculine as possible. The edges of the Vanilla Card Stock were distressed and then sponged with some Crumb Cake Ink. Some knotted linen thread is a rugged embellishment, and a Mini Binder Clip (retired) adds some sophistication.

Stampin' Up! Products Used:
Stamp Sets: Daring Adventure
Card Stock: Island Indigo, Very Vanilla, More Mustard
Designer Series Paper: Fan Fair
Ink Pads: Basic Gray, Island Indigo, Crumb Cake
Tools: Sponge Dauber
Accessories: Linen Thread, Mini Binder Clip (retired)

If you like today's project, please leave a comment. Thank you!

I really love this card. The thing that constantly amazes me is how I'll look at a card and see things from a set that I didn't see before! Really amazing, creative!
